The ones who show up

Latrobe's police officers and Mutual Aid's crews answer the same calls, often on the same night.

A hometown supporter of the police and someone Mutual Aid carried out of a bad night are not always the same person. This fall, Taste the Good Life is for both of them.

The mission of the City of Latrobe Police Department is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit our community. We accomplish this by providing the highest level of professional service, working in partnership with our citizens to creatively solve problems, preserve the peace, seek justice, and remain mindful of the authority with which we have been entrusted.

Our service is grounded in the belief that every member of this Department has value and worth, that integrity is not negotiable, and that each of us is individually accountable for upholding the standards of our organization. We earn respect by demonstrating respect for the rights of others and by continually striving for the highest moral, ethical, and professional standards.

Mutual Aid EMS

Mutual Aid Ambulance Service provides emergency and medical transport for more than 200,000 residents throughout 34 municipalities over nearly 900-square miles in Westmoreland and Fayette counties.

Mutual Aid is committed to providing a rapid and safe response using the best available tools, training and treatment.

Where the money goes

Every dollar raised runs through Mutual Aid Ambulance Service, a registered 501(c)(3). After shared costs and processing fees, half goes to the City of Latrobe Police Department.

Tens of thousands of dollars raised, one evening at a time, twice a year, since 1994.

Thirty-two years of beneficiaries

Joseph DiSalvo has hosted Taste the Good Life at DiSalvo’s Station twice a year since 1994, and 100% of the proceeds from the live and silent auctions go to that evening’s charity.

Jamie Cordial Hall Foundation

Jamie Cordial Hall tragically lost her life on May 15 2018, due to a postpartum hemorrhage, which left her two young children without a mother. Her family created the Jamie Cordial Hall Foundation to help children and others in need in Greensburg, Pa. and surrounding areas.

The JCH Foundation’s mission is to provide assistance to children and others in need in the community.

Greater Latrobe School District School Resource Officer Program

Greater Latrobe School District school resource officers

In their mission to “Protect the Cats”, the School Resource Officer Team plays a vital role in not only ensuring that the schools are secure, safe, and welcoming places for students to learn, but they also serve important roles in fostering positive relationships with students, their families, community members, as well as faculty and staff.

In addition to promoting a positive school climate, the school resource officer team provides mentoring and educational opportunities for students at Greater Latrobe School District, including providing CPR certification classes, participating in classroom speaking engagements, assisting with the drone program, and providing transportation to students for academic programs. The team also utilizes lockout and jump pack equipment for students who need vehicle assistance.

Furthermore, the team participates in continuing education and training, including EMT training and certification as well as the purchase of emergency kits for emergency response situations.

That fundraiser supported additional training and equipment needs so that the programme can continue to provide outstanding service and support to the students and families of Greater Latrobe School District.
